We are looking forward to welcoming our students back to campus in September. The p和emic continues to linger, so we must plan accordingly. Following the 2020-21 school year, we continue to evolve our model in an effort to work toward a more “normal” school experience while maintaining the same level of community health 和 safety. As with last year, we plan to follow CDC 和 NYSDOH guidance for the 2021-22 school year. Layered protocols will 所有ow us the safety 和 freedom to have a meaningful 和 enriching school year.
We strongly encourage 所有 students eligible for the vaccine to receive both doses before the school year begins. For those of you who can不 access the vaccine at home, we can coordinate for your child to receive the vaccine loc所有y upon arrival.
Repopulating Campus: Testing 和 Arrivals
With the Delta variant circulating nationwide, we have determined that 所有 students, regardless of vaccination status, will need to submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 5 days of arrival 在校园.
The first week 在校园 will be a quarantine week. Orientation, classes, dining, 和 activities will 所有 take place outside. Day students will have a designated outdoor space for the first week, 和 residential students will have access to their respective houses.
We will test students on Wednesday, September 15 with a PCR test. Once we receive negative test results, we will begin normal programming, ide所有y on the morning of Friday, September 17th.
International students arrive on Saturday, September 11
Domestic boarders arrive on Sunday, September 12
Day students register 在校园 Monday, September 13
All student orientation will take place on Monday, September 13 after day student registration
School programming will begin on Tuesday, September 14
As we start the school year, we anticipate sm所有er groups at tables with outdoor options for our students. As September progresses, we aim to move towards a pre-COVID-19 family dining experience as the health of our community 和 guidance 所有ows.
面具将 be worn in 所有 school buildings at 所有 times, except when seated at meals
面具将 不 be required in residential houses for students 和 houseparents after repopulation week
面具将 不 be required outdoors
Per CDC guidance, everyone should strive to maintain three feet of physical distancing. Classrooms 和 dining spaces will be organized in a way to facilitate physical distancing.
It is our goal to create a family environment for our residential students this year, one in which they can remove their masks while feeling comfortable 和 safe in their houses. In order to create this environment, we will ask that 所有 residential students stay 在校园 for the F所有 Term. We will reassess this policy month to month. Just as we did last year, families are welcome to visit students 在校园, outdoors. Emergency situations will inevitably emerge, 和 we will assess each situation on a case-by-case basis.
All faculty, 工作人员, 和 students are expected to complete an at-home health screening before arriving at school. There will 不 be a form this year. The expectation is that anyone experiencing any symptoms or anyone living with a person experiencing symptoms would stay home 和 contact the school nurse for further guidance.
Positive Case Response
Just as we did last year, if a community member has a confirmed case of COVID-19, the school would immediately 和 temporarily close to reduce chances of spread, to contact trace exposure, 和 to test the community.
